Who we are
In order to provide a high level of customer service to our students, the Technology Assistance Center maintains a Student Support Center, located in Walker Hall 154 (inside the Help Desk offices).
The hours of operation are:

  • Monday - Thursday 8:30am - 8:00pm
  • Monday - Friday 8:30am - 5:00pm
What we do
Students may bring laptops and desktop towers to the office in Walker 154 by appointment only. Call the Support Center at 831-7500 to set up an appointment.

We provide computer support services to students including:

  • Network connectivity troubleshooting
  • Walk-in and call-in support for basic computer questions/problems
  • Virus removal
  • Spyware check/removal
  • System rebuilds (last resort for problem resolution)
  • Wireless networking questions/problems
Note: Students are responsible for backing up their data prior to any operating system reinstall.

What kind of computer do I need at RU?
While the university does not require that students purchase a computer, many students do bring a desktop or laptop to campus. During a recent Student Satisfaction Survey conducted by Residential Life, we found that approximately 94% of the 2185 respondents had either a desktop or laptop.
