Electronic Engineering Services specializes in the set up and repair of computer systems.
Our staff has been trained to work with all of the most up-to-date equipment
in computer technology. Take a look below at what we do!
Upgrade and maintenance of all university-owned desktop computers (PC and Macintosh),
laptop computers, printers and other peripheral devices.
Installation, care and maintenance of all multimedia equipment in almost 200
classrooms. Designed to enhance the use of technology in the classroom,
approximately 150 classrooms now boast custom built state-of the-art
electronic podiums. The electronic classrooms include LCD
televisions/monitors, VCRs, overhead projectors and an instructor's
computer all displayed from a high power ceiling mounted projector.
There are several Distance Education classrooms located all over the Radford campus.
Distance Education also has extended RU locations at Virginia Western Community College,
the Roanoke Higher Education Center, and the Southwest Virginia Higher
Education Center in Abingdon, VA. Other locations in Martinsville,
Staunton, and Wytheville are now included in many of our Distance
Education classes. Electronic Engineering Services maintains many of these
facilities and operates a RU exclusive Video Network Operations
Center (VNOC) which has the ability to record and archive video classes.
Electronic Engineering Services provides engineering and support for the
campus radio station, WVRU. In addition, Electronic Engineering Services
manages the campus CATV system featuring over 60 channels of information
and entertainment. The satellite dish farm shown above allows RU to
broadcast live teleconferences and seminars from all over the United States.
